Paste without formatting not working in Google Docs
Try the correct plain-text shortcut
In Google Docs, use Ctrl+Shift+V on Windows or ChromeOS, or Command+Shift+V on macOS. If that does not work, paste into a plain-text editor first, copy the cleaned text, and retry. This removes hidden styling carried from Word, PDFs, email, or web pages.
Rule out a browser or document problem
Test a short sentence in a new Google document. If it works there, the original document or source formatting is the likely cause. If it fails everywhere, reload Docs, temporarily disable clipboard-related extensions, and retry in an updated Chrome browser profile.
Use controlled typing when paste still fails
When the browser editor still will not accept cleaned text, PasteFlow can type your prepared text into the active field at a pace you control. You can pause, resume, or stop at any time. PasteFlow never auto-submits; you review the text and complete the final action yourself.
Common questions
Why does paste without formatting fail in Google Docs?
Common causes include the wrong keyboard shortcut, hidden formatting in the source, a browser extension conflict, or a temporary problem with the document. Testing cleaned text in a new document helps isolate the cause.
Does PasteFlow bypass Google Docs restrictions?
No. PasteFlow types prepared text into supported browser fields at a user-controlled pace. Compatibility can vary, and it never auto-submits.
